We Have 2 Locations
Our first location is in Alger Heights. It is charming, quirky and very much a part of the Alger Heights neighborhood. Parking is behind the restaurant or on the street. On busy days the restaurant is bustling and cheerfully crowded.
Our second location is on Plainfield Ave, near 4 Mile. It is bright and spacious, with plentiful parking and more space for waiting and seating than our Alger Heights location. It is still very busy at the most popular times, but it can be a better choice for the needs of those with mobility impairments and larger parties.
Our two locations offer the same menu, bakery, and outstanding service!
we accept cash & local checks only
We are a cash and local (in state) check establishment. ATMs are located inside both locations and multiple banks are nearby.
We have made the choice to remain cash only as it allows us to give a much better value to our customers. We put the money normally spent on card processing fees back into the quality of the food and service we provide. We buy better ingredients and spend lots of time chopping, prepping, roasting and baking from scratch while still keeping our prices reasonable. Come try us and see the difference!
seating policy
We follow a strict seating policy during busy times - all members of your party must be present and inside the building before we are able to seat you. This allows for the most efficient service for all of our guests. We offer complimentary coffee as you wait, and a bakery case full of delicious snacks for purchase.
We do not take call ahead reservations, but if you are coming with a group of 8+ it will help us greatly if you give us a call to let us know what time you'll be arriving. This way we can try our best to plan ahead!
As a small restaurant we do our best to seat large parties together, however, it may be necessary to split parties of 10+ into two groups during busy times.
carry out orders
We serve carry out orders at both locations. Since our cooking space is extremely limited at our Alger Heights location, at busy times, we may temporarily stop taking carry out orders to better serve our in house guests. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Our Plainfield location has much more cooking space and very rarely has had to limit carry out orders.
Carry out order wait time varies depending on the number of in-house guests.
We put a high priority on making sure your carry out order is packed correctly. However, we cannot guarantee our food after it leaves our premises. We require that you notify us of any problems with your carry out order within 2 hours of picking it up. We will do our best to fix your order, but we cannot give refunds on carry out orders unless the food is returned in full. Please feel free to check your order before leaving the premises.

We offer a variety of homemade bakery goods for sale everyday at both locations and for pre-order.

OTHER BAKERY ITEM PRE-ORDERS:
Cinnamon rolls, a variety of scones, bars, cookies and muffins are available for pre-order from either location with one day notice.

allergies and dietary restrictions
Please tell your server of any allergies and we will do our very best to prepare your food accordingly. But do be aware: we use wheat, eggs, milk and dairy products, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, meats and many fruits and vegetables, as are detailed on the menu. Please be aware that normal operations involve close proximity and shared cooking and preparation areas, including common fryer oil and cooking surfaces. The possibility exists for your food items to come in contact with or contain trace amounts of other food products that you may not want due to allergy or dietary preference. Due to these circumstances, we are unable to guarantee that any menu items can be completely free of allergens or other items you are avoiding.
